Our Story
The Eritrean Community in Philly is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering the local community through dynamic events and collaborative initiatives. We aim to inspire the youth to engage, learn, and grow into productive members of society. Our mission is to provide educational resources and mentorship opportunities, creating lasting, positive change. Our journey began with a simple but powerful idea: that every individual deserves the opportunity to thrive. After assessing the needs of our community and identifying key challenges, our founders united to establish an organization focused not only on addressing immediate concerns but also on fostering long-term solutions. Over the past year, we have drafted and ratified our organizing principles, facilitated youth and adult dialogues, and hosted various community events, including celebrations for graduating students and outdoor activities such as picnics, BBQs, and games. Each milestone reaffirms our commitment to the organization’s core values of equity, sustainability, and empowerment.
As we look to the future, we remain dedicated to creating a brighter future for our community through education and support. With the continued backing of our donors, volunteers, and partners, we are confident in our ability to drive meaningful change and build a stronger, more inclusive community.
